Meet Jack Dawson

Jack Dawson was born in Canada in the small city of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and grew up in Alberta. He began his career developing computer software and then, in 1984, moved to California where he spent two decades building technology companies in Silicon Valley.

Over the years, Jack rescued five turtles from a variety of potential perils and built an elaborate pond enclosure for them. In the process, he developed a fondness for the animals and their way of life, imagining their perspective on the world around them.

Jack isn’t the author’s real name, of course, it’s a pen name. But it’s also his father’s nickname. You see, his father was a bit of a storyteller when Jack was growing up. So Jack now writes his stories under his father’s nickname as a tribute and, in a way, to recapture some of his own childhood.
